Sanjida is a novelist and a non-fiction writer. She was one of the winners of the Betty Trask prize for romantic fiction, highly commended for Young Telegraph Writer of the Year, nominated for Asian Woman of the Year, and runner up for the Asian Literary Award.

She writes on science and environmental issues for newspapers and magazines, has been an editor and writer at New Scientist and wrote a blog for the Independent newspaper on dressing ethically for a year. She was the TV reviewer for BBC Wildlife magazine and had a science column in The Times newspaper.

Sanjida presents wildlife and science documentaries and used to direct science documentaries for the BBC, including BBC2s flagship science strand, Horizon, as well for American networks, including National Geographic and the Discovery Channel.
